    maybe she has windows vista

It sounds like she is actually using a new version called Windows Vista which isn’t XP at all. It’s a completely new version of Windows.

It most likely is Windows Vista, which you would have to pay to get.

your friend probably has windows vista which comes with any computer you buy these days. you can downgrade to xp as well.

She has XP Pro, you have XP Home

There is little difference otherwise. XPPro was made for users who wanted the “deluxe” model, if you like. Unless you are very heavy into complex documentation or graphics, XP Home (which is what I have an the majority of members in our computer club of 600 have) you will be very well served with your XP Home.

By the way, Microsoft is said to be be putting VISTA to one side (not cancelling it but not pushing it either) until their NEW operating system comes out in about a year or so.

The new one will be RID of all the terrible incompatabilities and glitches in Vista and most of us are staying with XP until that new one arrives.

Much good luck with your present XP.

It sounds like Windows Vista. You can legally download any burnable ISO and evaluate Windows Vista then once the evaluation is up you will have to buy a license key, email me and we can discuss this further. aatrent@gmail.com

To all the XP fans. I personally was one to stick with xp due to the glitches, but have since switched to Vista Ultimate and have no plans to switch back. I didn’t pay a dime either, nor have I had any glitches or BSOD’s. I love Vista. Why am I having such great success with a “horrible” operating system, you ask? It’s because I’m using AMD hardware and SATA. I’ve noted in all of the computer’s I’ve worked on Intel’s early processors had major bugs which caused the systems to crash, and IDE systems were more likely to experience BSOD’s than SATA systems. I still swear by AMD, however Intel has fixed the bug that caused the major glitch, but intel’s are still notoriously unstable, unless of course you just use your computer for surfing the internet and writing term paper’s. Again Vista is an alright OS on AMD systems. If your experiencing different I’d like to know. Email me.
