The book is not a complete guide to every tiny little detail a totally geeky person might want to know about EPUB development from Adobe InDesign. It’s not meant to be… instead Rufus has managed to turn what is a somewhat scary and intimidating topic for the average graphic designer who uses InDesign into a subject matter that’s easy to comprehend and fun to work on.

How to create an eBook with Adobe InDesign is a great companion for anyone who is looking to learn how to create ePUBs (or eBooks). I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is getting started or wants a handy resource to help them troubleshoot any issues that they might have with creating an ePUB. Rufus’s relaxed and sometimes humorous writing style helped me through what could otherwise be a dull or dry experience.

I was also impressed by the author’s response to questions that I had about the book. After contacting Rufus via twitter @rufusd I received a response quickly that helped solve the minor issue that I was having.

I had been avoiding publishing an ePub book for quite some time because I felt overwhelmed by the very thought of it. Thankfully, Rufus makes it pretty painless and with this book and I was able to get started immediately, which was great! His humorous take on the hangups designers will have to just ‘bite the bullet’ on made me laugh out loud.

Happily, this was a quick and easy read. I was looking for something I could digest in a hurry so I could get started immediately. This book was perfect for that. Experienced InDesigners will be exporting to ePub in no time!
