here are some useful shortcuts:
alt + tab
shift through open windows(hold alt and keep pressing tab)
ctrl + esc
open start menu
ctrl + shift + esc
open task manager
winkey + L
lock your computer
winkey + F
open “search for files and folders”
winkey + D
go to desktop
winkey + M
mnimize all windows
winkey + R
open “run”

IN “run” the following are useful for advanced modifications:
regedit
Registry Editor
msconfig
System Configuration Utility
cmd
comand prompt
notepad calc mspaint ,etc also work for:
notepad,calculator,paint,etc
And of course the default ctrl alt del i am sure u know that
and Deleting sytem32 is ur one sure way to making sure u will be reinstalling XP

    Keep your registry clean.
    Keep you anti-virus up to date.
    Kepp your running processes (in the task maganer) to less than 40, and your commit charge down below 300. Keep your drives defreagged
    Don;t install every free thing that gets thrown your way by a website

    When in doubt use msconfig and disable everything that is not microsoft or not anti-virus from the services and startup tabs. You can check the “hide all Microsoft services” in the services tab to make sure you don;t turn off the woring things.

    Keep a good clean bootable restore point at least once a week

    BACK UP ALL YOUR IMPORTANT STUFF ANYWAY.

    Stay away from the “tweak XP” sites unless you know what your are doing…

    and after you are done with all that
    Install Ubuntu 7.10 or Mepis.
    Not a linux joke, seriously. You can recover from some heinous crashes with a nice clean linux install on another partition.
