I have to disagree with VIsta and Win7 running faster. I have seen Win7 and XP run on the same laptop and Win7 took about 3 times longer to load. And it had more than enough processor and memory to run WIn7.

A couple of suggestions I can give is turn off Automatic Updates from Microsoft and get rid of Internet Explorer. What are your system Specs, this question can’t really be answered properly without knowing what your current system specs are.
