Installing Linux RedHat Enterprise 4 on Acer Power Desktop with 915G Motherboard?
I tried to install Linux RedHat Enterprise 4 on Acer Power Desktop with 915G Motherboard. But after the installation is completed and PC re-boots a message appears during booting ‘Kernel Panic’ and the PC halts. What should I do to get the installation through?
I hope this is not for work because an Acer Power Desktop with a 915G motherboard is NOT a platform I would put RHEL 4 on. Unless I wasn’t installing X-Windows (which I’ve never tried with RHEL only with Fedora). If your media is okay — always something to check for — then I would say get a lighter distro or a heavier machine.
