To install these versions the easiest way will be to make a USB flash drive with the operating system on it. Burn the distribution to a CD and boot up on a different computer than your netbook. Use the USB Startup Disk Creator to install the distribution to the USB device as a persistent operating system.
At this point, you will have two options. First, you can just run the operating system off the USB flash drive and not worry about installing it to the hard drive. It will be a bit slower, but it’s still an option to consider. The second option is to boot up the operating system on the USB on your netbook and then install that distribution to your hard drive on the EEE PC.
Many wonder if versions of Ubuntu will work on the EEE PC and the answer is generally yes. Ubuntu is a great option for any EEE PC netbook user who wants to run a simple, clean and relatively trouble-free operating system.
