    This man makes a promise of a written format that can be followed. The writtng is NOT CLEAR and leaves much to the readers imagination of to what exactly the format should be. There is no CD so that you can see how the step by step process works. He names his files but does not show the real differences between how he is set up and how you can set up to fit your needs. I waisted my money. He claims in the book there is support which at best is terrible.

    The worst book I have ever bought on coding. If I were you try another writter.

    This author does a terrific job in presenting the information in this book. Everything works exactly as stated in the book. And David has a website to answer questions about the content of the book.

    The book is well written and exactly what I wanted on PHP and Dreamweaver 8, but the figures and code graphics are impossible to read on the Kindle. I requested a refund and was promptly granted it. I have ordered the paperback edition. Interesting to note that I paid $31.99 for the Kindle version about a month ago and the price is now $23.75. The paperback price is just under $3.00 more than the Kindle price.

    Tackling this book as a beginner, I was was wowed initially. Just before page 200 (out of 500), it became greek as the author condenses his code (“for space reasons”) and doesn’t tell you whether this block of code goes into the exiting php block you’re working on or if it goes to the header, body or even above the declaration. His “Space Reasons” is why I gave this book only 2 stars. If you are a “Beginner” like me, you will become easily frustrated going through the tutorials as you are guessing on many of the page coding features offered.

    It’s as if his initial .php introduction qualified you as a professional programmer and he didn’t feel the necessity for “coaching” you the rest of the way. You’re considered a ‘graduate’ after chapter 4!

    I have purchased the Dummies series to further my knowledge and this book will become a dust collector.

    i haven’t seen a better written instruction book that this one on php for beginners – just use dreamweaver since you have to have a text editor – powers next books on php are logical sequences to upgrade the php user level
