Distributing updates from a single RedHat box?

Posted on

We have multiple RedHat machines in our network, and I’m curious if I can use YUM to update a single box, then distribute those updates to other machines.
We only want one machine receiving the updates, then sending them on, as the others are not connected to the net.

The answer is yes. I’ve done this before using mrepo. It creates a mirror repository and then you change the repo.d in the client machines to update from the mrepo server you set up.

I’ll google it and see if there is step by step documentation to help you set it up.

This one might help. It looks like the way I did it.
